15 September 2008 - AMG Systems Ltd. announces that their Middle East Regional office has opened in the Omani capital Muscat. The office will service the entire region where AMG is seeing growing demand for its unique CCTV transmission solutions.
Founder and MD of AMG Systems Dr. Alan Hayes says, "AMG has experienced significant growth in the number of projects we're involved with in the Middle East over the past couple of years. Our new office in Oman is testament to our strong commitment to provide top level support and service to our local clients and partners".
The new office will be headed by International Sales Manager Simon O'Neill. Simon has long standing experience in the Middle East market, having lived in UAE, Egypt and Syria over a 7 year period and travelling internationally for 14 years.
Simon O'Neill comments, "It was a strategic decision to place the regional office in Muscat. The Omani Government was particularly supportive in encouraging foreign companies to establish their regional office in Muscat as an alternative to other common destinations across the GCC. The difference I have seen in Oman is that there is a kind of partnership between our company and the government whereby they have been supporting us to introduce our skills and technology and we have the opportunity to transfer our knowledge and best practise experience to the community. This is somewhat different to other countries that offer free zone facilities but have little or no interest in whether you can achieve your commercial objectives. This is testament to the team at Knowledge Oasis Muscat who carefully select companies based on their selective criteria".

The country has large oil and gas reserves and more than 90% of the country's crude-oil production is undertaken by Petroleum Development of Oman (PDO) where the government holds a 60% interest. Since 1998, Oman has made active plans to diversify its economy and is placing a greater emphasis on other areas of industry. With the seventh 5 year plan under the VISION 2020 plan the Government of Oman has created an attractive investment climate.
