A new ‘Classic' range of cost-effective and highly reliable barriers designed for long-term residential and commercial use has been launched by APT Security Systems (part of the APT Controls group), the high-end integrator for high-performance vehicle access systems.
The barriers, which can be programmed to work with any access control technology, are intended for office car parks, small industrial/commercial sites and private properties according to General Manager Chris Rowlands: "the barriers meet a very specific need in the market," he says.
"When reliability and a long service life is key, but budgets may be limited, the new Classic barrier is the solution our customers have been looking for."
Incorporating more than 20 years of design knowledge and practical experience, various models are available, with arm lengths of up to nine metres, articulated to suit applications where headroom is limited. Speed of operation can be varied, and the robust design and advanced technology of the motion control mechanism protects components from the stress of high-speed operation, ensuring long-lasting reliability.
The barriers are both easy to install and maintain, coming complete with anchor shield bolts, a pre-wired loop detector base and a removable fibreglass hood for ease of access. The barriers can be tailored to include boom lights, stop discs, sounders/flashing beacons and sensing technology to prevent the barrier from causing damage to people or vehicles. Attractively designed, the Classic barrier comes in powder-coated yellow/grey as standard.
This latest development follows soon after the launch of APT's ‘Executive' range of barriers designed for the most prestigious installations where the need is about aesthetics as well as the product's practical application and functionality.
