Christie’s InAVation award-winning projection display system for control roomsChristie, a display technologies and solutions specialist, has won this year's InAVation award for Most InAVative Commercial Display with its Entero rear screen projection LED system. The InAVation awards, now in their fourth year, were held earlier this month in Amsterdam, during the ISE show for professional audio-visual and electronic systems integration. Entero is described as an LED-based SXGA+ and UWXGA resolution projection display system, purpose built for control room and video wall applications. It uses an LED-illuminated, 1-chip DLP product line, with solid state LEDs that are rated at more than 60,000 hours - almost seven years of dependable operation, it's claimed. By comparison, mercury based lamps are said to provide only around 10,000 hours. With no consumable components such as lamps, filters or colour wheels to replace, Entero is also claimed to be easier to maintain and more economical to operate. LED illuminated projection's comparative benefits over mercury arc lamp based systems include instant brightness, more vivid and customisable colour performance, and frame-by-frame brightness adjustment, Christie explains. David Griffiths, the company's Market Development Manager - EMEA Control Rooms, comments: "This award is a great reflection on the Christie design process, which in the case of Entero has brought together a product designed to combat many of the still-remaining challenges of video wall application technology, particularly in critical 24/7 environments." www.christiedigital.com/emeaen and www.christiecontrol.com/entero |
