Ethernet switches and digital video range to be introduced at Intersec by KBC Networks

KBC Networks' industrially-hardened Ethernet switch and broadcast rangeKBC Networks will be introducing its industrially-hardened Ethernet switch and broadcast ranges at Intersec 2011. And following the success of Intersec 2010, the transmission manufacturer will once again team up with Lund Halsey and Christie Digital Systems at the show, combining stands 4-621c, 4-623c and 4-720c.

KBC's Ethernet switches and digital video broadcast interfaces are built to perform in unconditioned environments, making them ideal for a wide range of industrial applications within the Middle East. The new transmission products complement KBC's existing fibre optic, wireless and network transmission ranges.

With an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, the Ethernet switch range includes a series of managed and unmanaged edge switches. Already in use within fence line surveillance systems at a number of power plants and industrial sites, many of the switches are designed for safety critical systems.

The range varies from a simple, 5-port copper switch suitable for straightforward IP camera networks, to units that include SFP and embedded serial server data ports. The switches are straightforward to install and operate without fans or forced-air cooling.

KBC's industrial broadcast range includes fibre optic, digital video interfaces that support DVI, HDMI, 3G-SDI and HD-SDI transmission, and a series of DVI and HDMI electrical splitters that distribute a single video image to multiple screen locations.

The products are suitable for petrochemical and military sites where fibre plays a critical role in overall system design as well as CCTV control room applications, airports and passenger terminals.

Owen Price, KBC Networks Sales Manager for the Middle East spoke about the combined stand and KBC's plans for the show. "Our three companies' products are complementary, so by combining our stands, it gives our customers a chance to see how each product set works within a control room environment, and how each has a vital part to play. And with our new, temperature-hardened broadcast and Ethernet switch lines, we're looking forward to a busy show."
