SMP appoints Managing Director
For the past seven years, Tom has been the editor of the company's flagship publication CCTV Image which is published with the CCTV User Group. He has also been an editorial consultant for SMP on its online publications. "Tom has over 15 years experience in the security industry, as an editor and publisher. He brings a mixture of editorial and commercial knowledge to the job and his appointment underscores our commitment to producing high-quality, reader-driven internet and print products," said company Chairman Frank Kirk. Peter Mawson, Director of Media, will continue to work on product development but will now enjoy more time to develop strategic global relationships. He commented: "Together, Tom and I will ensure we leverage our brands and respond attentively to readers and advertisers alike. The new structure affords SMP the opportunity to offer developed systems and success measuring tools so our clients can truly gauge the market's reaction to their news." Tom commented: "Publishing has changed dramatically over the past five years and the challenge for any media company is to deliver the content that readers demand on the platforms of their choosing, whether that be print, web, email, mobile phone or video. SMP is a young company but we have the talent and the drive for rapid innovation which puts us in a favourable position in this highly competitive market." Meanwhile, SMP is also delighted to announce the appointment of another Tom to the business: Tom Coyne joins as sales executive with immediate effect. He will report to Peter Mawson and work with Media Consultant, Nick Sutton. For further information, visit www.securitymediapublishing.com or telephone +44(0)1543-250456.
