Tekno System unveils CHEP explosion-proof camera housings30-year old Italian CCTV specialist Tekno System SpA has launched additions to its range of CHEP explosion-proof camera housings, which now include a version available in AISI 316L stainless steel for mine applications. Having been certified ATEX and IECEx, the I M2 Ex d I housing is suitable for analogue, digital or thermal cameras in mines where there can be the presence of potentially explosive gases - such as methane for instance - due to the presence of Group IIB-IIC gasses, which may also be mixed with fumes, smoke or powder. A special version is also available with a housing for thermal cameras, equipped with a Germanium window with a filter and a protective grid made of stainless steel. This grid is required to protect the fragile germanium filter material. The quoted operational temperature range of the housing is from -20 to +50°C. The materials and components utilised, allied to the anodic oxidation surface treatment, are said to provide protection against corrosion, polluting elements and salty fog. Tekno System adds that CHEP's weatherproof protection is IP66 and IP67-rated. Accessories available for the CHEP range also include a heater with thermostat, wall bracket and sunshield.
