Egyptian border guards have shot to death two Eritrean men and seriously wounded three others trying to cross the border with Israel.
Security and hospital officials said on Wednesday that the men were illegal migrants trying to cross into Israel from the Egyptian border town of Rafah on Tuesday.
They said the Africans ignored warning shots. A sixth Eritrean, who was unharmed in the shooting, said on Wednesday the men had paid traffickers $1,000 each to cross the border.
