Two more schools closed down in BahrainManama: Two more schools have been shut down in Bahrain after students tested positive for the swine flu. Ibn Khuldoon National School, one of the largest private schools in the country, and Al Rawabi School will be closed for one week in line with the directives issued by the education ministry in coordination with the health ministry. Two schools were closed on Tuesday and one more school on Wednesday as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of the flu. Government schools and the University of Bahrain will re-open on September 27 amid concerns that several students would test positive. Three people, one Bahraini and two foreigners, died last month from the swine flu. Health minister Dr Faysal Al Hamer said that less than one per cent of the people in Bahrain have contracted the virus. |
