VideoIQ introduces large audience to the latest intelligent CCTV technology at IFSEC

Gary Pfeiffer, Video IQ's vice president for salesGary Pfeiffer, Video IQ's vice president for sales, flew into Birmingham to deliver an inspiring seminar on the role video analytics is playing in re-shaping the security industry.

Mr Pfeiffer outlined exactly what he meant by video analytics, before explaining how it can be built into intelligent CCTV cameras to deliver an impressive surveillance solution. He described how intelligent video analytics cameras record at the edge, sending only relevant data to a monitoring facility, via video clips. This process saves valuable bandwidth, reduces the equipment needed as the DVR is an integral part of the camera, and, most importantly, speeds up incident response time as only relevant data is viewed and acted upon.

Mr Pfeiffer was accompanied by Neil Smith, Group MD of Clear Image - a pioneering integration company using video analytics. Mr Smith discussed how video analytics worked in practice, using actual footage of incident-triggered recordings.

The current, proven track record from Video IQs' own, intelligent iCVR cameras, in applications from around the world, was impressive. To mention just two, the cameras had eliminated severe, school vandalism issues in Sweden and they are currently helping to support homeless people living in community settings in Fife.
