Xtralis, a leading provider of intelligent fire detection and security solutions, has appointed Abdo Melki as Sales Director, Middle East. He will be responsible for all commercial operations in the region for both the Fire and Security products ranges.
Abdo, a qualified software engineer, has extensive experience in the security industry, having worked for Sensormatic Electronics Corp. for more than 10 years in a number of senior sales roles, latterly as General Manager for Middle East, Africa and India. Most recently he was Vice President of Middle East, North Africa, India, and the CIS for Lenel Systems Int'l (a United Technologies Corporation).
Based in Lebanon, Abdo reports directly to Nick Carter, Senior Vice President and General Manager for Xtralis EMEA. He says: "this appointment will ensure that our commitment to securing significant sales growth in the Middle East marketplace receives the focus it deserves. Abdo is not only well-known across the region but also well-regarded, and with his experience and knowledge of the territory he is perfectly positioned to represent Xtralis."
Abdo holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon, and a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Miami, Florida.
